- Albert Abercrombie Gardner Second Lieutenant in the Seaforth Highlanders, died 23/04/1917 , was twenty seven years of age. He was the son of the late ex-Councillor Peter Gardner and Mrs. Gardner of 18 Summerside Street. In civil life he was a clerk and cashier in the Law Department of the Heriot Trust under Mr. Peter McNaughton. He had held the post for about twelve years. He was a keen tennis player and a member of Trinity Tennis Club.
